If you'd like to help shape teen services at Douglas County Libraries, join a branch teen advisory group!

At Castle Rock's Philip S. Miller Branch, the Teen Interest Council (TIC) invites teens who want to make a difference in their library and their community to apply to become Council members. Earn volunteer credit, make a difference, have fun! The Teen Interest Council meets from 4 to 6 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month. For more information, talk to Melissa Della Penna in the Teen Tower.

At the Parker Branch, the Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is a way for community teens to become more involved in their library. You, as a teen, help plan events, recommend materials, help maintain the teen area of the library, volunteer in the community, and participate in events. TAB members represent the teen community as advocates for teen issues and concerns. As a TAB member, you can earn service hours, awards, and recommendations for jobs or college applications. We meet at 6:30 p.m. on the last Tuesday of each month to plan, share snacks, and enjoy each other's company. Ask for a TAB application at the Youth Services desk, or email Dawn and Andrea parkertab1@gmail.com for more information.

Teens at the Lone Tree and Castle Pines branches are represented by the Teen Volunteer Group (TVG). We are a group of teens that gets together to meet new people, plan and execute fun programs for teens and kids, do fun volunteer projects, snack, make suggestions for how the Library can be even better, and get volunteer credit for having fun! TVG meets at the Lone Tree Branch on the 4th Thursday of each month, at 7 p.m. Talk to a Lone Tree or Castle Pines librarian for more information.
